Furry Friends Animal Rescue is a home-run rescue located in Old Coulsdon, Surrey, dealing with various types of animals including dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, terrapins and smaller caged animals. We pride ourselves on being a non-destruct rescue, as well as operating a backup for life policy. There is a set adoption fee for all animals and this must be paid before we release the animal for adoption.
Originally we were a small animal rescue catering for smaller caged animals, and over time we started to take in other animals, from cats and dogs, to more exotic pets such as degus, chinchillas and the occasional reptile.
We also spend a great deal of time helping animals that are in danger of being put to sleep. It is easily forgotten how many animals are in danger of euthanasia simply because there are just not enough good homes and spaces in rescue to cope with the amount of unwanted animals there are, and we do our best to save as many as possible.
Being a home-run rescue, the majority of animals are cared for in a home environment. Any dogs that are not suitable for living with other pets are boarded in kennels where they continue to be assessed and basic training is put in place. We try as best as we can to match the right animal to the right person and circumstance. However, if anything happens in the new home and the adoptive person cannot keep the animal, we offer backup for all animals that leave our care for life so that they will always have a place to go.
